Mold Town Council – Business of the Year 2022
RainbowBiz CIC were finalists in this Award for the work we do at our Hippy Shop in Mold. This Award recognised a business, be it retailer, market trader or service provider which has shown commitment to the community it serves, through charity work, or the exceptional service it provides.

AVOW Volunteer Awards 2020-2021
Ian Forrester has volunteered with RainbowBiz for many years and we were delighted to have him recognised in the AVOW Volunteer Awards for the hours he has dedicated to helping some of the most vulnerable members of our communities of the years.
We are now delighted to have Ian as a part time member of staff and fellow director.

The Steve Morgan Foundation – Best Entrepreneurial Charity or Social Enterprise 2019
RainbowBiz CIC were absolutely overwhelmed and delighted to be presented with the Best Entrepreneurial Charity or Social Enterprise Awards for 2019. The Steve Morgan Foundation brought back its Entrepreneur Awards to recognise and reward commitment and innovation within the Third Sector.
The Foundation invited applications across five different categories from any charity or non-for-profit organisation within the four remit areas – North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire and North Shropshire.
“It was at our inaugural conference staged last October, which brought together over 200 representatives of our supported organisations, that I was once again reminded of the incredible skill and entrepreneurial workforce that exists within the charitable sector,” says Steve Morgan, Chairman of the Steve Morgan Foundation.

Our Digging Deeside volunteers were delighted to receive this National Award for the work this project has carried out in the local community. The project welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds of all abilities to get involved in growing vegetables, planting wild flowers and contributing to their local community.

IRIS Leadership Award 2018
RainbowBiz CIC received this Award in acknowledgement of how the social enterprise has used the film Life Gets Better Together. The film was made by enterprise volunteers to explain their journey with RainbowBiz and how they support the LGBTQIA+ community.

Wales Volunteer of the Year Award 2018
Sarah Way who is one of the Founders of RainbowBiz and has been a Director from the very beginning was awarded a “highly commended” Award for all her work as a volunteer at RainbowBiz. Sarah manages the RainbowBiz Hippy Shop and ensures it operates in a professional and friendly way in order to make profit which is all reinvested into the social enterprise to run the many projects and groups which she also takes a lead role in managing as co-ordinator.
Sarah gives up hundreds of hours of her own time every year for absolutely no reward other than to make the lives of others better.
We are very proud to have her as a key part of this wonderful social enterprise.

Chester’s Dee 106.3 – Local Hero Awards 2017
RainbowBiz were delighted to be awarded “The Local Business of the Year Award” by Dee 106.3 listeners and voters. The Award is to recognise any business that’s made a significant impact in the community or which has exceeded expectations.
Sue Oliver, Director at RainbowBiz said “Being a sustainable Social Enterprise means it is very important that we operate effectively as a business in order to ensure that our community projects and events can continue without having to rely on funding streams. It was such an honour to be nominated for this Award, we have worked with Dee 106.3 on many occasions in recent years and we look forward to continuing to do so for many more years to come.”

North Wales Police & Crime Commissioner – Community Awards 2017
It is with extreme pride that we have won the North Wales Police & Crime Commissioner Community Award for Equality and Diversity. This award is for supporting the equality agenda and recognises the impact RainbowBiz has made on hate crime. We won the award because our work brings communities together. We have embraced community engagement in a number of different ways which has brought different to people and the Police & Crime Commissioner believes has reduced fear of crime within communities.

National Diversity Awards 2016 & 2017
Absolutely delighted to have been nominated for the 2017 Community Organisation Award – Multi Strand for a second year running!
All our volunteers were overwhelmed to be shortlisted from over 20,000 nominations for the Community Organisation Award – Multi Strand 2016 for their work and promotion of equality and diversity within Flintshire. Thanks to the support from Communities First, 10 volunteers were able to attend the prestigious award’s ceremony that took place in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.
Sarah Way, Director of RainbowBiz said “We are absolutely thrilled to have received National recognition for the hard work we do, without the support of our volunteers supporting all our projects we couldn’t do what we do!”

Heart of the Community Award 2016
RainbowBiz were absolutely delighted to be presented with the Employer Volunteering Award at the “Heart of the Community” Community Volunteering Awards ceremony in 2016. This award was presented by Flintshire County Council’s Housing Services, Flintshire Local Voluntary Council, Wrexham & Flintshire OWL and Communities First.
This award was in celebration of the fantastic work RainbowBiz volunteers have carried out in this first year of incorporation. It showcased the many projects that RainbowBiz has facilitated and the positive impact these have had on many communities.
